Paula Wilson at the Wexner Center for the Arts

  • Wexner Center for the Arts 1871 North High Street Columbus, OH 43210

Visual artist Paula Wilson discusses her multimedia practice that employs an extensive range of techniques to explore perceptions of light, form, and the body in space. Wilson’s work varies widely, encompassing sculpture, densely layered collage, painting, installation, and printmaking methods such as silkscreen, lithography, and woodblock. And her subject matter is equally multifaceted, drawing inspiration from real and invented cultural histories and identities, and in several series of work, exploring mythic dimensions of femininity. In addition, Wilson will discuss her artistic life based in Carrizozo, New Mexico.

Wilson has since been featured in group and solo exhibitions at venues throughout the US and Europe, including The Studio Museum in Harlem; Sikkema Jenkins & Co., New York; the Center for Contemporary Arts, Santa Fe; Johan Berggren Gallery, Sweden; and Zachçeta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw.
